About Our Wood:

Much of our wood is obtained from our two properties, or is obtained from someone else throwing it away.  We do purchase some exotics and other woods we don't come by in our journeys.  One thing we do not do is cut a tree down to satisfy our business needs.  All of our “home wood” has come from downed trees from natural events, or passed on to us from someone else.

Some of the most beautiful wood we have has been abused, thrown away, or just stumbled upon.  It is not our intent to go out and purchase top grade, perfectly formed wood.   It is my opinion that top graded wood sometimes can lack the depth and beauty of wood that has stood the test of time, weather, and whatever life throws at it.

If your pieces contain knots, bore hole and trails, creavices, spalting, inclucsions, odd colors, it will all be noted in each listing.  Chances are they are meant to be there to make your piece unique.  We do what we can to keep that piece unique, yet make it workable.

A big fan of mixed medium pieces, your item may be painted, or include recycled and up-cycled stones, beads, old jewelry which would all be mentioned in the listing.

Business Overview:

A wood working business was purchased in 2010 which came with a peddle scroll saw.  I instantly became hooked.

Reproduction Peddle Scroll Saw

A family member had a beginners electric scroll saw and the insanity escalated.  I made some chunky hair claws for myself to keep my hair up out of the way, then, decided to try to sell some hair sticks on Etsy.

We sold on Etsy from 2011 - 2016 the following is a screen shot of our reviews.

We have since added three more scroll saws and still loving every minute.

Still going strong, we moved into acrylic hair sticks and forks.

Since my husband gifted me with some awesome kitchen ware, my zest to start cooking again, starting my need for wooden kitchen gadgets.

We have decided to move everything to one site so we can expand with all the goodies we would like to make, and offer them up for you to enjoy as well.
